Children can combine writing and art by
writing and illustrating their own short story book and then binding
it with yarn. Add some ribbon or other material for the
finishing touch as shown below. Making these books a bit fancier than
simply stapling will give the child a sense of pride and result in
more time and care being devoted to the book composition and
illustration.
